Peter began his martial arts training at the age of 16. He was an amatuer boxer for 2 years in the lightweight catergory, competing in many bouts. He also began his study of Karate, eventually attaining the rank of Sandan (3rd Dan). He continued his martial arts training with WTF Tae Kwon Do and again achieved success as a competitor. However he found that these syles were not effective in street fighting situations.

It was then that Peter began his search for the truth in martial arts combat. This search led him to Wong Shun Leung's way of Wing Chun. He studied under Sifus Danny MacMillan, Alan Gibson and Master David Peterson, receiving his Instructor's Certificate. He is registered with the BCA and has been elected a lifetime member of the World Ving Tsun Assocation. Still, he found the tradition of the Ving Tsun system to confining.

Like other martial artists, Peter attended "JKD" seminars with many well known teachers, but he was continually disappointed. He was soon to find what he was searching for when he met Master Jeet Kune Do Instructor and Bruce Lee student, Jerry Poteet. Sifu Poteet invited Peter to Los Angeles to train with him, and Peter finally found what he was seeking. Peter earned his Instructors Certification in Jeet Kune Do, and continues to train with h is Sifu as often as possible.

Peter says, "Sifu Jerry Poteet is my master in the martial way. He continues to astound me with his skill and knowledge of Jeet Kune Do that was personally passed to him from Bruce Lee. He has shown me what is, and is not, Jeet Kune Do, and for that I will always be grateful. I am proud to represent him in the UK and Europe. I am proud to be a keeper of the flame. My search is orver since I have last found the truth in martial combat."

Peter is a founding member of the Jerry Poteet Jeet Kune Do Association, and serves as the JPJKD Assocatiation Coordinator for the UK and Europe.

Peter holds Jeet Kune Do classes at the Millenium Martial Arts Centre in Plymouth. He also conducts monthly workshops in Lincoln and he is available for private tuition by appointment.
